I thought I would start off the New Year with a blog post of a recipe that I have made repeatedly since I last posted. It all started when I went to an Indian restaurant in Utah and had some delicious Korma. The restaurant food was good, but pricey, and the service was subpar. When I came home, I Red Couch Recipeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04424769747994274064noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8219359192280647439.post-61881191142372654372018-03-13T21:37:00.001-07:002018-03-15T09:51:20.020-07:00Top of the Mornin' To You
So do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Whether you are Irish or not, it is always fun to show off your green. My childhood memories are of always having corned beef, cabbage and potatoes for St. Patrick's Day. The community I grew up in were always ready for Friday night fish fries, and they were always ready to put on the green.

My daughter Talley and I had a bit of fun making this pineapple cake. It was super easy, and fun to make. We used a Wilton 2D tip to make the cake, and of course, just lopped off the top of a pineapple for the top. We used buttercream frosting, and just made a cake mix, using six-inch pans. One cake mix will be enough to make three, six-inch cakes. Dear Red Couch Readers, I have been missing in action for over three months. We lost one of our sons in January, just 31, and it has been hard to come to terms with it.
I have thought of blogging again, but not until Easter have I done anything about it. Easter for us is more than bunnies, eggs, and chicks. Dear Red Couch Readers, I have always been fascinated with cookie molds and presses. When I was a child, my mother bought a couple of Rycraft cookie presses, and I fell in love with them. I even remember the store, Orange Tree Imports, in Madison Wisconsin, where she bought them. It was a kitchen store, that I thought was very magical. I walked into Wal-Mart and could not resist these plates by Better Homes and Gardens. I do not need new Christmas salad plates, but they beckoned and I answered. I love the scene that it evokes, of times when we used to get a fresh tree. In my childhood we did have wood-paneled station wagon, not quite as cool, and we used to go cut down our trees.

Hello, and welcome to my Santa Hat Table. When my daughter gave me these Santa Hal bowls last year, I knew that I would be doing a tablescape with them.
They are so fun, and I knew I had the right plates, the basketweave brown, to coordinate with the rim of the brown bown.
I added mini Santa hats in each glass. These are so cute!

Welcome to Zoulah's Jaunty Jack Tablescape. Zoulah had fun putting this together. We love pumpkins at Halloween, and we especially love Jack ' O Lanterns. I don't remember carving them as a child, but I surely have carved a lot as an adult.
