Socks for Christmas Poem

A Merry Christmas greeting from Red Couch Recipes!

This is such a fun and useful gift idea -- socks for Christmas.  I really do think the dryer or washer eats socks at our home, so when I opened a Christmas package containing a package of socks for each member of my family from my sister-in-law Camille, I was very thrilled.  When asked what he wanted for Christmas, my father used to always say, "Socks!"

No, we didn't wait until Christmas to open up the package!  In fact, I have a pair on right as I am typing!  Enclosed with the packages of socks was this cute poem.

Oh, my feet are really chilly,
for my socks are rather thin.
If you hung them in the window,
they would let the sunshine in.

And it feels a little funny when my
toes and heels are showing,
They just might freeze inside my boots
when it should go to snowing.

So, I want socks for Christmas
don't laugh because it's true,
they can come in any color
(though my favorites would be blue).

You can buy them in a package,
You can get them in a pair.
And, if I get one hundred,
I will just have socks to spare!

You may think that I am kidding
but the truth of this be sworn;
I would like some socks for Christmas
Just to keep my piggies warm!

Thanks Camille, this was really fun!

Cute! Cute! Cute! I read on a blog recently that a group of women had a sock exchange instead of an ornament exchange. Isn't that the cutest idea? I want to do it next with at my SS class party or with my luncheon club. I'm going to save your poem to use if that's OK. If not, please let me know. I don't want to be an idea thief.

I love socks as gifts...to give and to get. I used to make a little package of Christmas socks for my girls and their roommates at Christmas time. They loved them too.

Check the rubber lining around your dryer door. That's where I find my missing socks. Who knew?

That is such a cute poem - I wish I'd had it to include with the socks I sent to my sister in Toronto!

What a fun gift idea. You're right...I used to blame it on my kids when socks would disappear. Now they are all gone and so are the socks!!!!

What a cute poem and idea to send relatives! I just love it. Camille is such a sweetie.

I think there are sock monsters that live in the floorboards. I know that the majority of our socks have been eaten by them too! Have a great last week preparing for Christmas!

Very cute. I actually gave out a few socks this year along with my Christmas cards--sock grams. ;) I put together a TLC package (socks, peppermints and a tiny tub of body lotion) for an after-shopping treat. Love the poem.
