Va Va Va Valentine's Tablescape

Dear Readers, welcome to my Va Va Va Valentine's Day Table!

I love Valentine's Day! My husband and I were married on February 12 many moons ago.  Our reception was Valentine-themed complete with white painted manzanita bushes and red hearts.   Jacqueline and I found these hear place mats at Home Goods recently.  They are woven out of paper!

It seems like a long time ago since we were married,  but in reality time has zoomed by.

The white heart plates are from Tai Pan Trading.

The napkins were also purchased at Home Goods.  I tied them with a little gingham ribbon.

The table is graced with King's Crown goblets and red goblets.

Here's a little side view of the table.  The red hob nail bowls were a find at Michael's a couple of years ago.  We use them all the time for baked casseroles.

Just another happy little look at the red bowls.

We brought out the silver for this table.  Of course we did, it is Valentine's Day.

A picture with the light streaming on the table.  The red on the table is that reflected from the glasses.

I have just returned from a week in Virginia where I spent time with my husband.  It was an early Anniversary visit.  So good to see him!  We made it to Colonial Village at Williamsburg, and I loved it! I may show a few photos later.   I have never experienced such courteous drivers, than those at Williamsburg.

Our son and son daughter-in-law, and their two girls live in Richmond while he is attending medical school.  We were able to go to their daughter Sydney's baby blessing.

Aivi, the big sister, is  helping her mom cook.  She was putting cooked pasta in cupcake wrappers.

Sydney is glad her big day is over.  She was in a swing and I couldn't get a shot that wasn't blurry.

And nearby Richmond  there is a famous Christmas Tree Shop Store that Kathleen has introduced many of us to.

I have to tell you that I was not able to find the bargains like Kathleen does.  I DID find Friendly Village plates there.

Kathleen found them for one dollar, and  I found them for $3.99!   I didn't buy them.  She does have a way with bargains.  I think it is the kind of store that you need to shop often at.  I did find a few bargains that I lugged home in my carry-on --- arghh!!

Thank you to Kathleen for hosting Let's Dish where I am posting this tablescape as well as at Tablescape Thursday.

Thanks for dropping by Red Couch Recipes!

I love your table. The two goblets together are fabulous. It looks especially pretty to have the sunshine streaming through the windows. How we have missed the sun!

How fun to get to go to that store. I can't wait to see what you dragged home. Even $3.99 is a bargain. So glad you and hubby had a great time. I know I would love Williamsburg! And how wonderful to be there for Sydney's baby blessing. What cuties grandmama!

Colonial Williamsburg is one of our favorite places to visit Joni. So glad you got to go out and visit your husband. I collect vintage Friendly Village plates and love them. I'll have to check this store out when I go to visit my daughter in Arlington.

I love the simple elegance of your table. It's just beautiful.

Love your table, especially the napkins! Also, I would love to have some of the heart plates. My brother lives in Williamsburg - how lucky is he? Thanks for sharing the photos of the girls - they are precious!

Isn't that frustrating to find the same item at the chain same store that someone else got so much cheaper? This recently happened to me! Another blogger purchased some jars at PB that were 70% off. Of course, I rushed 40 miles away to our PB and they were regular price!!! Oh, well! Your table is beautiful! I love the King's Crown! I have the same glasses, the red ones too!, but my King's Crown is cranberry! Blessings, Tammy

Hooray you got to see your husband!!! I know it's tough to be apart like you guys are so often. Another hooray for Williamsburg! Still gotta get there...on the Bucket List! I hope you do post pictures. I have such grand illusions about that place! Those placemats are woven out of paper??!?!?! Wild! They look like straw or something like that. They're cool! LOVE the goblets!!! I'm glad you got a chance to visit the heralded Christmas Tree Shop. We don't have them here in the Midwest, so that's one more thing I have to check out when I get back to the East coast. That Kathleen and that Alma...they both are so good at sniffing out bargains there! Have a great weekend, Joni, and Happy Anniversary to you and your husband!

Such a pretty table set for Valentines. Love Williamsburg, that's where we went on our honeymoon 37 years ago! I live right outside of Richmond -- I assume your SIL is at MCV. Glad that you had a good trip. Your grandgirls are adorable.

I am so glad to hear you had time with your husband! The red place mats are very pretty and great with your white heart plate. We have been to Williamsburg and love it but I also had a great time shopping at the different outlet stores at the time. I bought my King's Crown there moon's ago. The CTS store is here but only 20 minutes away. I have been there and found wonderful things and then not so much. I like to look for something different over at the home warehouse of Tuesday Morning next to where the company is officed. They are across from the freeway from each other. I think you were fortunate to find a treasure to bring home! Thanks for sharing your trip and your tablescape is very beautiful but especially those sweet angels and they are perfect!

Hi Joni! I love the heart shaped plates!! And the picture you took with the sunshine pushing the color across the table was so pretty. i'm glad you got to spend time with your grand babies. I know first hand how hard it is not to be near them all the time. I am a first time Nana to a now almost 11 month old and she is 12 hours away driving time.

Thank you for sharing these pictures with us.

Thrilled that you got to see your husband to have an early celebration. I've heard great things about Williamsburg. Would love to see some photos ;o)

How cool that those placemats are woven out of paper. I'm another one that rarely finds the bargains that Kathleen does at the Christmas Tree Shop. Happy Anniversary to you and your husband!

Hi Joni, I never found great bargains at our CTS either! I have those same King's Crown goblets. They look pretty paired with the red ones. It's so nice that you got away to visit your hubby. We went to Williamsburg on our honeymoon and have never been back. I loved it, too!! I know you loved seeing your grandbabies.
