A Red and Black Halloween Tablescape at Red Couch Recipes

Zoulah wishes you a RED welcome to her RED  and Black Halloween table at RED Couch Recipes.  She decided to mix it up a bit and have red star in a Halloween table.  No she is not getting wonky, she still loves orange and black---the traditional colors of Halloween.

She has been a bit busy as the Red Couch family dodged a big bullet yesterday.   Our 18 year old  flipped our truck and came out of it with minor injuries; thank heavens he was wearing his seat belt.  Our truck is totalled, but we still have our beloved son.  The cab of the truck sustained the most damage on the passenger side, and thankfully he was driving solo.  Hold your loved ones tight and make it a firm rule to wear their seat belts.

Beaulah, Jacqueline's witch visited Zoulah recently and gifted her with these cute witch shoes.  Zoulah wasn't insulted because the "shoes do fit" her :)!  The red and cream socks peaking out of the shoes inspired me to do a red and black table.

I just set a fun spider web square on the table for a tablecloth.  I love these black doilies I put under the red hobnail bowl.  Zoulah screeched " Who would have "thunk" they have black doilies?"

Zoulah kind of has a "hobnail" theme going on here with the black hobnail goblets and red hobnail bowls.

Zoulah just bought the hobnail goblets at K-Mart and she was heard cackling, "How magnifique, they are plastique!"  For Kathleen's sake, I will tell you that they were $2 at K-Mart just today.  Sorry Kathleen, I do not get as good as deals as you do :(.  As I was checking out, I was asked to make a donation to a charity.  I hesitated, and then said yes I would donate.   I told the clerk I would donate today because my son just dodged a big bullet.  She replied, I better also because my son didn't get additional jail time.  Oh, the worries of mothers!

Zoulah drools over this "Trick or Treat" sign in cream and white.

Just another view of Zoulah's work!

What is on the menu you say?  Just a few of Zoulah's favorites.

She also added some "vampire blood" shots, non-alcholic of course, just for fun.

Zoulah, with her twin sister Beaulah, thank you for taking a rest on our Red Couch.

Ta-Ta for now!

First of all, it's so wonderful that your dear son is okay. That is something to be so thankful for. Your table is wonderful and I love your hob nail. The plastic sure fooled me.

I am so thankful that you had good news yesterday. There is nothing more frightening than those types of phone calls...and with kids 28 and 30, I've had my share. They don't even live here anymore and my heart still stops if the phone rings late at night! I am sorry about your truck...but, things are things and kids can't be replaced.

As for the table...I wouldn't have thought of using the red, but it works really well. Love the shoes...and the menu! Such a fun table.

Joni, I can't even focus on Zoulah and Beaulah because I'm thinking of your son!!! How terrifying for you and your son. I'm so thankful that he is fine. Now I am going to go back and enjoy your wonderful table. I always look forward to the appearance of these two sisters! Linda

What a great table! Love the red, white & black twist on Halloween.
I wish I had bought those goblets at Kmart...they're probably all gone now.

Thank goodness your son was not seriously injured! Oh that is so scary. He must have had a guardian angel watching over him.

That must have freaked you guys completely out!!!!!! Thank goodness he's OK! Rollovers don't often end well, so God was REALLY looking out for his well-being! You're so right...the worries of mothers! Sigh! FUN table and, no, I have never seen a black doily in my life! Someone finally got wise! I love the color combo of witchy black and blood red. Cool!!! I think I'll go call my son and remind him to slow his roll. Have a good weekend!

What a fun table! I would have never guessed that those glasses were plastic. Love the red and black together! Glad your son is OK. We don't have drivers in our family yet, but I dread the day he drives out of the driveway and I won't be right there with him! Trucks can be replaced, but sweet children are irreplaceable. Have a great weekend.

the car looks downright scary, I'm glad to hear your son was ok after that horrible looking incident. Your Table is too cute to be scary, thankfully, one bad scare is enough.

Happy to read your son is okay, that is enough to make a mother turn completely grey.

Joni, catching up tonight. I'm so thankful that Skyler came out of that truck without serious injury.
Tell Zoulah that I like her touch of red with the black and white, and the hobnail seems to go with Halloween.
Glad the "sisters" got to visit!

Oh thank God your son is ok! I shuddered as I read it as my 18 yo nephew was hit by a car and killed when he was 18. Yes, a doation was in order as well as a thank you , God!
Love your black and red table, and those glasses are great.
I live for bargains, like some live for shoes, lol. Plus I am older, so I have more hunting experience! :)

Love Zoulah's new witch shoes! What a blessing that your son was unscathed! When our son was in the Philippines on his mission, he was the passenger in a car that went off the road, flipped and smashed into a humble little home. To see a photo, it was a miracle that no one was hurt! My son was the only one wearing a seat belt:)
