Fall's Pink Blush

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Centerpiece Wednesday and Tablescape Thursday!

Thanksgiving Challenge

Each day from now until Thanksgiving, I am going to share something I am thankful for in every post.  I encourage you to do the same.

A glass fresh from our dishwasher when our water softener wasn't working.

Today I am thankful for modern conveniences; I am thankful for my dishwasher. Yippee!  We can use our dishwasher again!  We have really hard water, and without it our dishwasher can't work properly.  After about a week or so of handwashing dishes, I am sooo thankful our water softener is back in working order -- after about $150 of repair work!    I have lived without the use of dishwasher before for several years; I prefer a dishwasher!

My daughter (Polka Dot Pantry Sweets) bought some of these Churchill Brook Pink cereal bowls and salad plates for my birthday.  She found them at Ross and they were being clearanced there.  Little did she know that the Churchill Company was discontinuing this line.  That's okay, we'll use a white plate for the dinner plate.

The salad plate.  What is it about transferware that just transends you into a different world?  I want to sneak into the scenes and rest from my cares a bit.

I love the peaceful feeling that transferware brings to a tablesetting.

I love clear glasses when the light shines through and don't you just adore bubble glasses?

I scrounged out these Barberry branches in our backyard.  The Barberry branches seemed perfect for this setting.

My mother always set out a cornucopia in the fall; I am enamoured with  them too!

As I have admired other tables with transferware, I have been amazed at the versatility of transferware.  It really can go with any season.  I am a huge admirer of soup tureens -- how about you?   I am a huge soup fan and a covered soup tureen seems to enhance the flavor and appeal of the soup.

Please take some Blessing Mix as you leave today....munch....munch.

What a nice cozy table...transferware is my favorite...I might even consider giving up most of my other dishes for all transferware! I think I used that same tureen this week...mine was another of my thrifty purchases.

The transfer ware is so pretty. I love that shade of red. White is always a welcome touch and I love those place mats from walmart. Great table.

I think you put it exactly right -- the pretty transferware scenes invite us in. How blessed you are to have a daughter to give you such pretty things! And I love that you're continuing your mother's tradition with the cornucopia. Lovely, warm table!

Your transferware bowls are so pretty Joni, they look great with the white! Tureens can make even a simple soup fun and fancy-enjoy:@)

Beautiful tablesetting. I completely agree that transferware seems to transcend us to a different time and place. I use it in every setting and combine it with old, new, modern and traditional. Love that Churchill pattern. If you do want to add pieces to that, they are relatively easy to find online. Love your big soup tureen too! And, love that you're listing something you're thankful for each post. Great idea!

I love the scenes on transferware too. I have some dessert plates in a similar color(if not the same) with a "winter's eve" scene. I purchased them at either Ross or T.J. Maxx(can't remember). Your daughter has good taste:) Your table settings look so pretty!

Lovely transferware! You're exactly right, it does magically transport you and make you want to slip into the scenes depicted in the plates! Glad you're dishwasher is working :-)

Of course I had to Google "barberry branch" because I'm nerdy that way, and how LUCKY you are to have those bushes growing on your property!!! Wonderful decorating plant, and they ARE perfect for your setting! The transferware looks absolutely PERFECT with the white plate which gives it a designer look. Very nice! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Hello Joni,
Love the setting! I absolutely love transferware. We just went through two dishwashers! The one we had died - then my thrifty husband found one at Habitat for Humanity - was a terrific donation for them, but the dishwasher wasn't long for this world - now we're back on track!
Hope you have a terrific Thursday,
Kathy
