Apple Cookies for Teacher Appreciation Week

Welcome to my Red Couch!

Hi everyone.  It's the end of the school year and I made a treat for Talley's teacher.  Her 4th grade teacher has been so great this year.  She has loved her and encouraged her to excel.  Thank you Mrs. Anderson.

The only trick to these cookies is to make sure you make the hole for the worm before you bake the cookies.  I used the end of a large wooden spoon.  After baking, I needed to work a little bit to get the gummy worm in.

I love sugar cookies!

They look great! End of the school year already? Wow! Around here, the kids do not get out until mid-June, usually the Friday closest to the 21st.

PS - you can use a wide straw to make the hole too (I do that for cookie ornaments at xmas time)

These are way too cute! I adore the worm coming out, as long as he is a gummy one! That red frosting just draws me in and makes me want to take a bite! Really striking.
