Hi everyone! This is the 12th Tablescape that I have done for Tablescape Thursday since I began blogging. Don't forget to enter my giveaway that ends this Friday. Click on giveway or click on the kiwi Le Creuset baking pans in the left hand corner of my blog.
Putting together tablescapes has been a lot of fun and beneficial to my family. We have begun to use our salad plates a lot more. This has given a side benefit...we eat our salad first most nights and that helps us fill up on the good greens and vegetables! The other benefit is that I take more time, even on week nights, to set a nice table for my family. As you know, dinner time with kids, and their activities that infringe on dinner, can be hectic. By setting the table early in the day, dinnertime can be less hectic. What about you? Any benefits that have come to your family by doing Tablescape Thursday? Let me know in the comments.

Today, this tablescape showcases some new polka dot dishes that I found at Tai Pan Trading; a favorite place of mine to shop for dishes and home decor. These parfait glasses and the pedestal dishes were on clearance for $1.50...whoooo--hooo!! I think they are fun and think I will get a lot of use out of them. I am also showcasing my lilacs from my backyard; they are finally in bloom!
I love the shape of this pedestal bowl!
If you have seen my tablescapes before, you will have seen these trusty square white plates; they are so useful!
I love the napkins rolled up in the parfait glasses. There are straws in there too! Come have a sip! Ooops!! Better take that napkin out!
I thought I better show a close up of the polka-dotted parfait glass! I just love these glasses and can't wait for the weather to warm up...I will be out on my deck sipping sodas in these glasses.
Just a little side view of the tablescape. Polka dots and plaids make me happy!
As you can see, it is not a very nice day! Someday good weather will come!
Another side view -- I have had the round turquoise plates for years. They were from the Dollar Store and I have loved them!
I will leave you with a view of the lilacs. When growing up, my parents had a line of lilacs planted right near our bedroom windows On a warm evening, the smell of the lilacs would waft in our bedroom windows. There are few smells better than lilacs! Is their appeal in that they only bloom for such a short time?
I hope you have a wonderful day! I am linking up with Susan at Between Naps at the Porch for Tablescape Thursday! Come have a look at the wonderful tablescapes!

Very Springy table.
Love the parfait glasses! And I really like the color! I have a set of polka dot plates that my kids love to use for parties. I've always "set" the table when we get to eat as a family- it's something my grandmothers both did and I just continue the tradition
xoxo pattie
Such fun polka dots! Love the lilacs :)
Blessings!

This is such a beautiful, cheery tablescape. It makes me happy just to look at it. I love lilacs too, and mine are just about to bloom.
Really fun! Love the little footed bowls!
Super fun tablescape, Joni! I can't believe you got those cute dishes for that price!!! Love the polka dots SO much. I would have visited you on your blog name alone because I adore polka dots and plaid.
I did a nautical 'scape tonight. I decided to go sort of graphic with navy stripes. Yep, that's another thing I like... stripes!
Happy Tablescape Thursday!
XO,
Sheila :-)
very cute, gotta love the dots!
Well, I love this...you must go look at my tablescape and you will see why! Maybe we should get together and have a party:) The lilacs are beautiful and I love the soft purple with the blues. As for a benefit from tablescaping...it makes me happy, I think that is a great benefit!
Very pretty 'scape! Those bowls and parfait glasses are fantastic with their colour and the dots! I can almost smell the lingering scent of those lilacs...mmmmm, lovely!
P.S. Benefit of tablescaping is exercise for me as I keep a lot of my dishes/accessories/tablecloths in different areas/levels of our house and I'm always running around finding the perfect thing!

LOVELY!!! I can smell the lilacs from here.
Love your tablescape, Joni. The colors are so crisp and shout out summertime. The polka dot parait glasses will be so much fun to use.
What a cheery tablescape! Love the polka dot pieces you've found. I used those same plaid napkins in my tablescape this week!
What darling polka-dot parfaits and bowls! I love the shape of the footed bowls, especially. The plaid and polka dots are great together!
Who wouldn't enjoy a meal from such a pretty table? I love the colour, the polka dots and the idea of eating the salad first to fill up on the healthy stuff!
I just love the polka dots! I was just at Tai Pan in St. George and did not see those cute glasses! I am bummed now. I love setting the table for my family as well. It really makes meal time more enjoyable for sure!

Polka dots, plaids, stripes, . . . each of these always put a smile on my face. Love the color of these dishes. What a find. I've not seen any like these. Love the pedestal cups and the parfait glasses. Great designs!
My husband appreciates that I set a pretty table, but sadly I don't do it for every meal. We often eat on a try. :-)
I'm so envious of your polka dot dishes!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the polka dots and colors. so sweet!

Joni, I love your polka dots! The blue color is so springy and pretty too. You always do set a pretty table; you have many dishes and you mix well! My tablescapes on the blog are just for show. We don't eat on them. HOWEVER, I decided that as many nice dishes as I have, and as much effort as I put into blogging tablescapes, I need to make the table look nicer when my son and grandson come over on Sundays....as far as during the week, it's just me and hubby, so nothing too fancy then...
Beth
p.s. Love that soda cracker pie recipe - looks awesome and I can't wait to try it!
Pretty table. I love the color and the polka dots. Your lilacs are beautiful and I love the vase you have them in, so cute.
