Welcome to Tablescape Thursday and to my Summer Snacktime table!

Recently, my sister-in-law Michele gave a "Fancy Nancy" party for her daughter's eighth year birthday.  When talking about the upcoming birthday, she mentioned something about the snack trays that were used at wedding receptions about 20 or 30 years ago.  After this conversation I was at a thrift store and picked some up for seventy-five cents.  The punch cups were missing, but that was not a problem as I had some!

Today, I made some Brownie Pops and served them to my children out on the deck...well, most of the cake pops made it on the deck!  It's summertime and the kids are itching for something good!  This was a fun summer snack and POPS are so fun!  Who doesn't like eating something off a stick?  Who doesn't like eating pretty food off a snack tray?  This whole week I have been sharing ideas for POPS.  I will share the recipe and instructions for the Brownie Pops tomorrow.

These are the cute snack trays.  I have never had snack trays before and I think I will use them a lot!

Take a Brownie Pop before leaving!  Thanks for coming!  Don't forget to enter my giveaway!

I am posting this with Tablescape Thursday where you will be inspired to set a better table!

Love the brownie pops, what a fantastic idea. I think that would be so much fun even for the adults. I use to have a bunch of those snack trays and used them all the time. They were quite fashionable in the 50's and 60's. Every time we have a party, they were used. The ones you found are lovely. I really like the detail. The ones I had were just plain, so you found some beauties. I'm sure you will really enjoy them. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such gracius comments on my table. I really appreciate it. Hugs, Marty

Brownie pops sound wonderful! They look great on those snack trays too. I've seen them so often in thrift stores and have picked them up to buy but thought I wouldn't use them. Now I'm going to hunt for them because they are perfect for cookies and milk or cute little snacks like you show.

Hugs,
Joanne

I love those snack sets...remember them from back in the 60's when everyone had at least one set. I am so glad they are making a comeback.

Fab! We will try those. The kids love the oreo ones so much, but they are a bit rich for me. We tried fudge too. You have to be careful because some can be too sweet - did I just say that? I can't believe I could think something could be too sweet. I have the snack trays from Grandma Littlefield. I got them when she died. They still had a price tag on them for $1.99 for 4.

Those brownie pops are darling! I'll have to try making those with my grandchildren. I love those snack plates -- what a find! I know my grandmother had some, but I don't know where they ended up, alas.

What a lovely idea. I believe that children (especially little girls!) appreciate the little extra things and will keep the memories of such special times - when they grow up your tradition of making a little more effort will be passed on. Lovely!

Joni, Your snack trays are adorable! I bought some Candlewick snack trays recently from a thrift store, and I used them for a birthday party post too. I, too, remember them from church basement wedding receptions - including my own. Wedding receptions were much simpler then. I do need napkin rings, hope I win! Have a great week Joni and thanks for sharing your recipes, wit and wisdom!
Hugs and blessings, Beth
