Hi everyone! I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful! All you wonderful bloggers out there have been tempting me with your yummy Christmas cookies -- I have finally succumbed and made some Christmas cookies. If you like peppermint and chocolate, these cookies are for you -- double servings of chocolate and peppermint make these taste divine.
Don't forget to link up to my "It's Your Wonderful Life!" party on the first three Monday nights in December.
Recipe for Peppermint Crunch Double Chocolate Cookies
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups flour
1 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
1 cup Andes Peppermint Crunch Chips
1 cup walnuts -- optional
Crushed Peppermint to decorate
White chocolate to decorate
In a medium bowl, cream sugars with butter until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time and add vanilla. Add baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder. Next add flour, one cup at a time, beat in well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Roll tablespoons of dough into rounds and bake in 350 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not over bake! Cool on wire rack for 2 minutes. Decorate with crushed peppermint and white chocolate drizzles. Hint: Press the crushed peppermint on cookie right after it gets out of the oven so that it can stick on the cookie.

These sound delicious, Joni.
Oh my goodness... These look so yummy and tempting! But the thing that puts them over the top is the white chocolate drizzle!!!
I want to reach into my computer screen and grab one...or 5 and a glass of milk! :)
Very pretty Joni! Love chocolate (of course) and I like finding ways to use up the candy canes too:@)
I love these cookies, Joni. Chocolate and peppermint are perfect together and I just happen to have some crushed peppermint stick.
These look wonderful and so pretty! I have to go to a cookie exchange and I haven't decided what to make yet. I've never seen Andes Peppermint Crunch Chips, I wonder if I can get them here.
Joni, Thanks for linking up to my give-away. These cookies look so good. My two favorite Christmas flavors are chocolate and peppermint. These would look so pretty on a Holiday Buffet.
I haven't started baking for Christmas yet and I think I will be cutting back this year - simply because I won't be hosting but I love this combination. I will be saving this one!
These look awesome. That chocolate peppermint combo sounds delicious and the colors are perfect for Christmas.
yum!!!
Your cookies look as good as your blog. I'm sure they are delicious too!

These look so wonderful..I love this combination of sweets! ;D
Joni, These cookies are so pretty! They really look good. You are fortunate to have 4 others in your home to help eat your goodies; with my empty nest, I tend to overindulge on any sweets that I make! I do love them though!!!
Blessings, Beth
I am so going to gain 10 pounds if I keep looking at your recipes! This one looks fabulous and I am so going to make these. Also the pear Carmel cake is making my mouth water, yummy!
I keep thinking I need to go into business for myself with all the great things I find at the GW. Today I found a pair of real UGG clogs for $2.99. I was shocked at how great of spape they were in. My 14 year old niece is sure getting a great Christmas present this year!
So what are you searching for, lol?
