Silver White Winter Table

Silver White Winters that melt into snow, these are a few of my favorite things!  I love snow, I know some of you are getting waaay too much snow right now.  In the high desert of Utah Old Man Winter has barely appeared -- today is 57 degrees, and no sign of snow for awhile. I miss snow; I really do, and we depend on snow pack for water in the spring and summer, so I hope we get some soon.

I just love a white table.  Do you?  Okay not totally white, but maybe some silver added.  Here's a closer look.

I love how the snowflake looks on the plate.

A view of the small stack of silver and white dishes.

My husband bought this lantern for me last Christmas, and this is the first time I have used it.  (Shame, shame, shame!!)

I am sure you are like me, in that you love lanterns.

The table has these cute snowflake goblets and my workhorse clear bubble glasses.  I have used the bubble glasses on so many table settings.

The flatware is Damask Rose sterling.  It was a gift from my parents when we were married.  I don't use it very often.  I did at Christmas and of course I counted the silver when the dishes were done.  One of our guests thought that was funny, as if someone were going to steal a spoon ;).  I wasn't worried about that, but I am worried about throwing one away in the garbage.

Just plain white napkins with a silvery napkin ring.

The silvery snowflake table runner was a gift from my sister-in-law Camille many years ago.

The snow fairy embellishes the lantern. The 10 year old at my home today thinks the snow fairy is creepy :).

I would like to be snowed up in our home for at least a day.  No school for the kids and no work.  I would sit and look out the windows while the snow would be softly falling.  This is just a dream this year; one of the driest winters on records.  My kids have never had a snow day.

Sometimes it has come close, but to their disappointment, it has never become a reality.  Snow days were not uncommon where I grew up in Wisconsin.

I will close this post with a view through a bubbly glass.

Thank you for visiting Red Couch Recipes today.  I hoped you liked the Silver White Winter Table.

Oh, Joni, you have totally created a gorgeous white tablescape. You may have noted that white is my favorite color so I love this all. I don't have a great collection of table dishes but I do have a pretty good selection of baking/cooking pieces :) The problem I have with including food in my occasional tablescapes is that folks want to eat instead of waiting for me to take pics!

Love Love Love those goblets. We got 10 inches here yesterday. I only missed 2 hours of work, but schools were closed.

Wishing you snow, glittery snow!

What a beautiful tablescape, Joni, as you dream about snow. It's just so romantic and beautiful. I love your pretty lantern that your hubby gifted you, too, and I'm glad you shared it with us.

I did like your table, Joni. I love your lantern, dishes and silver. Your snowflake runner and snowflake glasses are perfect to set the theme for this winter table.

Maybe some snow will come. I know there are people out there that would give you some. Keep dreaming of a snow day. Your tablescape was dreamy and elegant.

How elegant - how beautiful!
I don't think it's silly at all to count the silver. I once found a couple of sterling coffee spoons in the garbage after someone 'helped' me in the kitchen after a dinner party.

This is so beautiful and elegant Joni. I think is my favorite of all your tablescapes. We need the snow!
The smog here on the Wasatch front is terrible. A storm to blow it out would sure be welcome for our lungs, not to mention what a blessing the water would be. Hope you get snow soon at your house.

This is a beautiful table to me, and it looks exactly what January feels like. Even though we're in a snowless area too. (My 21 year old has lamented that it has snowed here exactly once in her lifetime. I think it has been more than that, but she just doesn't remember.)

The white and silver is perfect for January. (And I will admit that I kind of agree with your ten year old about the fairy, but I still love it on the table. Creepy or not. It's SNOWY.)

What a beautiful wintry table and although you haven't had the snow, ours has never left and we have been jealous of your weather!! You know the grass is always greener on the other side and the snow is always whiter!!
I think the snow fairy is cute. We can't all have beautiful faces! I love your lantern too. Glad you got it out and used it. The plates are so pretty with the snowflake and snowman. What a gorgeous table.

Joni, I will GLADLY pass any additional snow that comes to the Kansas City area this season your way! We have had only 3 measurable snow events, and that's enough for me!

Sorry, but I have to side with the 10-year-old about the snow fairy. It kind of reminds me of that U.S. Postal Service return service commercial with the clown. Kind of what my nightmares are made of! :-)

Your table is beautiful, and I'm glad you got a chance to finally use the gift from your hubby! I know that made him happy!

I, like you, count the flatware after a dinner party. "Helpful" hands sometimes don't pay close attention and we end up finding it in the trash. Seriously?!?!??! How on earth do they do that?!??!?! I always encourage people to just sit and enjoy and allow my husband & me to do the clean-up. He knows he will be in the forever doghouse if he tosses flatware or one of my napkins!!!

Enjoy your balmy weekend!
