Brownie Pops

We had Brownie Pops and Milk served on the deck yesterday for a fun summertime snack!  They went so fast, I wasn't able to snag one!  They are fun and easy to make!  Create some memories in the kitchen this summer with your children and your grandchildren.  All week I have been posting recipes for Sweet Treats on a Stick.  "Bakerella" started this trend and there is no end to what you treats you can serve on a stick!

Shhh!  Don't tell anyone, but tomorrow is the last day to enter my giveaway for a set of 12 "Style Sisters" napkin rings.  The napkin rings are so cute and who can have too many?  Click HERE to enter or click the picture at the top left of my blog. The odds are great for winning!

For the Brownie Pops, make your favorite cake-type brownie recipe or use a mix.  I have included the recipe that I used; it is very good.

Monteen Gordon's Brownie Recipe.  Monteen's recipe was printed in our church cookbook.  It's yummy!

1 cup softened butter
1/3 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1-1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons almond flavoring or vanilla flavoring.  I used almond.

Preheat a 350 degree oven.  Grease and flour a 13 x 9 pan.  I love using Baker's Joy spray; it also contains flour.  Cream butter, cocoa, and sugar together.  Add eggs, once at a time.  Then add flour and vanilla or almond flavoring.  Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.  Do NOT overbake.  Take out of oven and cool on wire rack.

Directions for Brownie Cake Pops:

1.  Bake brownie recipe, making sure that you don't overbake them.

2.  Let brownies cool for 20-25 minutes.

3.  Make tablespoon-sized (to 1-1/2 tablespoon) balls out of brownies.  I used a Pampered Chef scoop to assist in uniformity.  Make sure that you don't use the crusty parts of the brownies.  If your brownie balls are really oily, you can roll them on a piece of paper towel to somewhat absorb the oil.

4.  Roll brownie balls in powdered sugar or cocoa powder.

5.  Dip sucker stick in molding chocolate and insert in middle of brownie.  You can click HERE on my daughter's website to see what this looks like if you are not sure about how to do this.  This helps to anchor the stick in the brownie pop.

6.  Refrigerate pops for about 10-15 minutes, or until the molding chocolate is dry.

 7.  Dip pop in more powdered sugar or cocoa powder.  For contrast, you can sprinkle powdered sugar on the cocoa dipped pops and sprinkle cocoa on the powdered sugar dipped pops. Instead of dipping them in powdered sugar or cocoa, you could also dip them in candy melts.  I am not a huge fan of the candy melts.

8.  Grab one for yourself before your teenage boy arrives on the scene!

9.  Drink some milk and have another!

I hope you have  a great day by making memories in the kitchen!

Joni, this is such a fun idea! I bookmarked this post to my favorites!
And since I am trying to loose some weight and don't like to feel deprived, this would be a perfect little treat!
Don't be surprised if these end up on one of my upcoming tablescapes with a link back to you.
Creative and so yummy!
