Candy Corn Craze Tablescape

Red Couch Readers, Zoulah welcomes you to her Candy Corn Craze Tablescape and to the first tablescape done in months at Red Couch Recipes as we thought we were moving and had packed up all the dishes.  Zoulah loves the plastic with the fancy white salad plates.

Zoulah convinced Mrs. Red Couch  to unpack some of her dishes so that she could put together a table in honor of  Zoulah's favorite Halloween candy --- Candy Corn.  Unpacking to hopefully pack again, is not pleasant, but that Zoulah can be pretty convincing around Halloween -- think spells and temper tantrums!

Zoulah loves these square plastic bowls that Mrs. Red Couch picked up for a song and a dance.

The star of the table is the Candy Corn Wands  Zoulah made this year.

Here is a better view of the wands.

The placemats are colored pink, orange, and yellow.  You can catch a glimpse of them in this "bubbly glass" picture.

Have you tried the Candy Corn M and M's?  Zoulah loves them.

Zoulah made some "Candy Corn" shots, non-alcholic of course!

Zoulah thanks you for dropping by her Candy Corn Craze Tablescape.

She is partying at Let's Dish and Tablescape Thursday.

Worm Shots

Zoulah welcomes you to Red Couch Recipes, and to her "Bewitchen Kitchen" where she brings you a fun, easy, and delicious Halloween-ey Treat.

This little red worm wants to say hi.

Zoulah's green face is blushing as this is sooo fun and sooo easy!  Zoulah did see this concept on Pinterest, but she must not have pinned it.  Zoulah always likes to give proper attribution when she can.

Just take a small box of Jell-o, Zoulah used the new mango flavor and she deemed it delish!  Make the Jell-o according to the directions, and pour it into little candle votives.   When the Jell-o starts to get a "leetle-bit" jiggly, add a worm.  Zoulah cautions you that if you wait too long, you won't be able to insert the worm.

How fun is it that when you pull out a worm, it leaves a worm hole that looks like a fossilized worm?

Zoulah is excited to tell you Mr. Red Couch is home for a visit!! Oh, is Zoulah happy, the Red Couch family hasn't seen him for 44 days, and he has been sorely missed.  As you may know, Mr. Red Couch accepted a job in Virginia, but the Red Couch Home hasn't sold, so he had to move there and rent an apartment by himself.  Zoulah is skipping around her "Bewitchen Kitchen" with joy!

Thanks for dropping by!

Howling Easy Halloween Treat Pedestals

Zoulah howls out a warm Halloween welcome to Red Couch Recipes where she has been a lazy kitchen witch, but an energetic crafty witch.

Zoulah's green flesh is turning a bit red because these little pedestals are so easy, she didn't know whether they were worth a post.

You just take a candlestick from your local thrift or dollar store and spray paint it.  You will need to paint it two coats.

Any candlestick will do,....

After the paint is dry, you glue, E-6000 works well, little plates on the top of the candestick, and voila!

Zoulah was happy to find these little plates at K-Mart.

Then she took a little glass bowl and a candletick......

and she made this cute little candy jar.  The candy jar is filled with Candy Corn M and M's....Zoulah loves them!

Zoulah thought it needed a little bow on it.

Then she took another candlestick and used a large dinner plate....

So as you can see, she went to town making pedestals, and now she is going to have to host a Halloween party or two so she can use them!

She was inspired by the hostess the BargainBound Blog.  Zoulah found her pin on Pinterest.  She shopped thrift stores and made cute containers for a candy bar.  Her site also looks like she has a lot of other great stuff.

Zoulah thanks you for stopping in at Red Couch Recipes.
